My name is Claire Campbell, and I am a Divorce Trauma Coach. In this role, I bring personal and unique perspectives through my own experiences with divorce and the negative impacts it had on my life. As one that can empathize, I provide motivation, empowerment, and encouragement to women who need to know how to navigate through shame, fear, and feelings of rejection associated with divorce. I provide a safe space to empower women to break free and move forward so that they reclaim control of their lives.
Career wise, I earned my Degree in Social Services and studied Faith-Based Christian Counseling. I am a Certified Depression Facilitator, certified Prayer Counselor, trained in Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). My career allowed me to work in several fields including Inasmuch House for abused women and children, Elizabeth Fry Society for Offenders, and Empowerment Workshops in various churches through Ontario and the British Columbia Conference of Seventh Day Adventist. I am presently working in an Addiction and Trauma Treatment Centre which allows me to use my experience to empower women across Canada and the United States, helping them to break free from the chains of their past and walk in their true purpose.
Growing up in the Caribbean, I saw how my mother operated at home. She was a stay-at-home mother and wife who worked graciously and tirelessly day and night to take care of the family, and as far as I can remember, she never murmured or complained. I grew up with the dream of becoming a woman just like her – a devoted wife and mother. In 1986, I immigrated to Canada undertake a new career and continue my education. A few months into my “new home” country, I met the man of my dreams. What made him even more special, was that he was a very outstanding leader in the church. We got married in 1988, and I was so excited because I believed that I did it right, but fate would not permit it to be so.
Sadly in 2011, my marriage ended, turning my world upside down. It was not what I had planned for my life. I was then covered in the darkness of shame, fear, rejection and depression. In those dark moments, when I needed the support of the church, the leaders were all silent. I felt rejection all over again. I went through this alone except for the few people who decided to support, and this is the main reason that I have a longing desire to create a safe space for you.
I am the creator of Setting Yourself Free After Divorce TM a program that helps Christian women between the ages of 25 to 65 who have been through a divorce, break free from feelings of fear, shame, and rejection to find the inner strength to once again become positive, empowered, and passionate about life.
